April's home now, and she's beautiful! She slept through her first night just fine. She got a little fussy when I moved my hand out of her crate, but when I put it back, she settled down really quickly. She likes her brother Bob, but we have to watch them very closely when they play together, because he's about 6 times her size still. They're getting along fine so far though. Keep your fingers crossed that they'll be able to KEEP doing this well!
Well, April's growing and learning every day.  She's not chewing on us quite as much, but she's got to learn to put her teeth away when she plays. But she's doing well so far. I'll keep you up to date as she grows!

Well, she grew a little bit. Looks kinda cute sitting there, doesn't she?
Here she is in my favorite position. She's actually being still and as cute as can be, isn't she?
And here she is with Norma, her handler. Norma handled Bob to his championship too. Gotta keep the best handler when you can get her!
April's breeder is currently active, so if you e-mail me, I'll tell you how to get in touch with her!

Congratulations, April! She went to her first show this weekend. It was the Louisville cluster, the show we wait for every year. She went reserve the first day (yes, it WAS a major), but the second day she went WB for two points! Good job, April!
Well, April's been having luck at her attempts at showing so far this year. She's up to 11 points with the one major shown above so far. Keep your fingers crossed that she will win the next show she gets to! Go, April, Go!
Well, she's there now! April became a champion this weekend! I'll get pictures put up as soon as they get here, but she's "Champeen" April now! Congratulations, April! Now it's on to being a search dog for Daddy and learning to take over as Mom's service dog.
This is her 2nd major win, and the next-to-last time she showed. She's a pretty girl, isn't she?
And this is her third and final major! She's now a champion! Best of Opposite both shows, too!
Thank you, Norma Smith, for handling my baby to her championship. Now all you've got left to do is finish June! Next year should be the year of the final SANCTUM puppy! But we're all going to rest this year and get ready for next year!
Well, we all went to Tweetsie Railroad Park last year, and this is how April chose to pose!
And this is how she chose to spend her time at Disney World this year!
Of course, there are other things to occupy her time at Disney World too!
Well, April's about to start her stint as my service dog. She's going on the annual spring trip to Louisville to take care of me while I get to visit with my Mom and a very good friend visiting from Costa Rica. I promise to tell you all about the trip and how April does when we get there and she has a chance to settle in and to meet all my friends. Stay tuned!

Well, we've been to Louisville for 2014, and it was a good trip! April was very good all week. She didn't sneak out the front door, she didn't get walks around the block this year (it was enormously hot this year), she did get to play outside in the back yard, and she played with her grandma a lot too! Good girl, April! She was quiet and well-behaved. She did really good! She was a VERY good visiting service dog for me, and I'm very proud of her. She was a LITTLE strange, seeing as how she spent a lot of time pestering a very good friend who was not so sure he liked the amount of attention she wanted to pay to his feet! But she caused NO harm to anyone, she liked all the friends she met, and she was a good watch dog at night. Thank you April. You did a good job for your first trip! (And you made a very good friend to my mother. I think you really made a good pal there!)
